Jennifer Hines enjoys creating artwork that explores color, composition, and typography or the written word. Her current work is hand drawn lettering and calligraphy projects that combine drawing and digital aspects. See more of her current work on Instagram (follow abc typography). She also runs a greeting card business, Paper Heart Dispatch, which sells cards with illustrations and hand-lettering in her Etsy shop at www.paperheartdispatch.etsy.com. Her previous work was conceptual mixed media pieces and drawings exploring symbol and narrative in combination with the human body. She has shown her artwork in solo and group shows in Chicago and other locations in the United States. Jennifer studied printmaking, art, and creative writing at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA and Penn State University in State College, PA, and arts management at Columbia College of the Arts, Chicago. In addition to her art pursuits, she has curated for back room projects presents, a mobile gallery dedicated to creating site-specific installations and sharing them around the city, and has participated in other curatorial projects for local community shows and festivals, such as the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Fest. She works as a graphic designer and art director, and does graphic design and typography projects for fun in her spare time. She currently resides in Chicago, IL.
